GE15: Focus on winning polls first, not three DPMs, says Ismail Sabri

HULU KELANG: If having three deputy prime ministers (DPMs) is in Barisan Nasional's manifesto then we will see it through, says Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

The Prime Minister said Barisan would focus on winning the 15th General Election (GE15) and the decision of having three DPM that could be appointed from Sabah, Sarawak and from the peninsula will be made afterwards.

"We will focus on winning first. If it (having three DPMs) is in our manifesto, we will see it through.

"We don't have any candidates yet as of now. If it's from Sabah and Sarawak, then we will wait for the states to present the names (candidates)," he said.

Ismail Sabri was speaking to the media after attending the closing ceremony of the Eksplorasi Komuniti Kreatif Keluarga Malaysia (Expresi@Finas) programme at Kompleks Studio Merdeka, Finas, here.

On Sunday (Oct 23), Barisan chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said they may include having three DPMs in their manifesto.

Adding this into the Barisan manifesto, he said, would allow the Prime Minister to pick leaders from the three regions in the country.

On another matter, Ismail Sabri said Barisan should be reelected once again so that the government can implement the Budget 2023.

"This is not a manifesto because we already have the allocations.

"The government that I'm leading should be chosen again so that we can realise all of the aid and initiatives," he said.
